Netherland jumped final by defeating Uruguay 3-2

After waiting 32-year Netherland pulled themselves to the World Cup final with the hands of playmaker Wesley Sneijder.

This is the man who made the victory against Brazil by scoring twice.

The first half finished with same score 1-1 Diego Forlan for the Uruguayans and left back Giovanni van Bronckhorst for Netherlands.

Now Netherlands is waiting for the winning team between Spain and Germany, and it became all European at the last of this tournament.

Maximiliano Pereira made second goal for ex champion Uruguay in the extra time but it was too late to stop the Dutch because of pressure from the South Americans.

It was not an easy task for Fernando Muslera, Uruguay goalkeeper and it started when he couldn’t take Robben’s cross. The ball went to Kuyt but his shoot finished over the bar.

A shot of Robben was blocked by his teammate before Bronckhorst put the Dutch ahead with a rising shot what went off over the post.

In 1974 and 1978 Netherland lost their previous finals against West Germany and Argentina respectively.

Germany has defeated Maradona’s Argentina by 4-0 !!!

It was not what Argentina could expect even in their dream but this is truth that they are no more in this tournament. Leonel Messy was redounded everywhere when he touched the ball. From the beginning Germany played hard, and that doesn’t mean that Argentina didn’t do so. Argentina couldn’t express them as they can and have been doing until playing against Germany.

Germany has stepped another staircase towards the destiny by defeating Argentina 4-0 in CAPE TOWN.

Argentina vs Germany, going to have a big fight again

Maradona’s Argentina is going to fight against Germany of their quarterfinal match to keep running on the way of being champion. Fans will get them in a battle in Cape Town on Saturday.

“We have to concentrate on our own game” Germany captain Philipp Lahm said. “They are temperamental; we’ll see how they deal with defeat on Saturday”.

Lahm dismissed Maranon’s advice “We are tense but not nervous.We are looking forward to the game.”

Bierhoff mentioned Argentines “friendly, warmhearted people” and he had played with many Argentines.

Germans striker explained Argentina like -”But on the pitch they are different. They become aggressive and provocative. We should keep a cool head and concentrate on our own game.”

“I don’t think there were so inflammatory. It was not his intention to start a fire. He is a fair sportsman.”

Schweinsteiger hoped that the match after 2006 quarterfinal still has impacts on his teammates’ sprit.

“When you look at their body language and gesticulations, they way they try to influence the referees, they have no respect, It’s their mentality and character and we’ll have to adjust, “German winger told.

Spain made victory by scoring against Portugal, 1-0 in Cape Town.

David Villa made his shoot goal after 63 minutes of that match and this is fourth goal in this tournament. As Spain is in next round, they are going to play against Paraguay.

Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Villa made trouble to the hard defense of Portugal. Iniesta shot from the sideways straight into the box, from where Xavi pushed it to Villa. Eduardo stooped Villa’s shoot but Villa got it again. And second time Villa didn’t get any person who can stop his shoot to the post.

Eduardo was crying on the field after the match because this is the first time for Portugal and also for him, that they allowed the first goal in this tournament.

This is Portugal, who scored 7-0 against North Korea, 0-0 against Drogba’s talented Ivory Coast and also 0-0 against number 1 Brazil in their final group match but was unable to score a single goal against Spain.

But it was not so easy task for Spain to go through the defense of Portugal, though they could do so for once but that was enough. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world’s best players were shut down by the world’s best defense. They hoped to make a breakthrough from the counter attacks but their dream were dream only.

Spain,  the team which started with losing match in their first match against Switzerland 0-1, still brining the dream to be the first team as a champion who has lost first match.

Brazil vs Portugal scored 0-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday

Brazil became champion in group Gwith highest point 7, though it was goalless match with Portugal. Many players were shown yellow card where necessary.

Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo disappointed Nilmar in the first half. Both teams got good chance but couldn’t make them goal at any cost.

Group H’s runner-up will face Brazil in nest round on Monday in Johannesburg where Portugal will play against the Group H winner Tuesday in Cape Town.

Eduardo could touch the shoot of Nilmar before it touched the post. England could push them to the next round by scoring against Slovenia

England has got three points by winning against Slovenia in Nelson Mandela bay/Port Elizabeth. This is the team, which made tie against both U.S.A by scoring 1-1and unexpected goalless draw with Alzeria. By scoring 1-0 against Slovenia gave chance to England to play against Germany in second round to go to the way of being champion.

Mexico vs Uruguay, who will be in the next round?

Mexico and Uruguay both have had a tie and a win what gave them same points.  Both will get chance to move next round, if they make tie in their next match in Rustenburg. If one team can score, he will go to the round and the another has to face a goal differential with the winner of Bafana boys, South Africa vs  Ex champion France.

France should not take easily “Bafana Bafana” (the boys) South Africa because this team has tied Mexico in opening match. And Mexico, who defeated France 2-0 some days before.

South Korea must win against Nigeria to move next round where Nigeria has no chance to go ahead. Korea will fight against No. 21 Nigeria today in Darban.

South Korea will be benefited if Greece lose their match against Maradona’s   Argentina where Maradona  has a strong weapon Lionel Messi.

Mexico beats France by 2-0

Little Green Pea Mexico’s Javier Hernandez, beaten his grandfather by a scoring a World Cup goal against France. One major thing: he was in a victory.

Hernandez and Cuauhtemoc Blanco each scored 2-0 against France on Thursday, leaving El Tri needing only a draw to reach the next round.

Hernandez scored from Rafael Marquez’s pass as the France defense stopped, parheps believing Hernandez was offside. He dribbled around goalkeeper Hugo Lloris before guiding the ball home in the 64th minute.

Hernandez’s grandfather, Tomas Balcazar, scored for Mexico against France in the 1954 World Cup, but El Tri lost.

“I remembered my grandfather in the locker room, I haven’t spoken to my family yet, they’re my main motivation”- Hernandez.

Blanco put in a penalty kick in the 79th minute after Eric Abidal fouled another substitute, Pablo Barrera.

Abidal was caught out of position on both goals while playing center half instead of his usual left back.

“We should still be proud enough to look forward to winning our next match. There is still an infinitesimally small chance that we will go through” he wished.

“We feel a great disappointment and sadness,” said France coach Raymond Domenech. “We struggled. At the moment I really don’t have an explanation for it” he added.

Mexico next plays Uruguay, and both need just a draw to advance. France has achieved only one point and has to beat South Africa and gain a better goal difference, and hope Mexico and Uruguay won’t tie their match in Tuesday’s final group games.

“We have to enjoy this win,” said Mexico’ coach Marquez. “We have to go step by step and be calm.”

Gonzalo Higuain made the history by scoring hat-trick against Korea

Argentina played like potential world champions as they demolished South Korea 4-1 with an outstanding all-round display highlighted by a hat-trick from Gonzalo Higuain at Soccer City on Thursday.

Gonzalo Higuain, from whom the first hat-trick of 2010 FIFA world cup  has come while he basked in the spotlight afterwards.

Upcoming legend Lionel Messi and midfield sidekick Carlos Tevez were again inspirational.

“Korea were never capable of controlling us,” said Argentina coach. “Of course, they scored but they were never able to dominate any part of the match”, Maradona added.

“I have 23 top players and they are all ready to put on the jersey and work on the pitch and that makes you happy and then you have peace of mind,” he strongly mentioned.

The only great mistake came just before halftime when defender Martin Demichelis, perhaps he had a fine game, failed to control a simple ball from which Korea scored.

After going 2-0 behind inside 33 minutes, Korea came back into the game with the last kick of the first half when Lee Chung-yong took the opportunity of  Demichelis’s mistake to make the score 2-1.

That was their last chance, although, as Argentina tightened their grip on the game and powered through for victory.

It came after a brilliant run from Messi ended with his shot hitting the post and bouncing back to Higuain who poked it into an empty net from a metre out.

“It makes me happy to win and to do something for the team,” the modest Higuain told reporters. “We deserved to win and we will continue to play in our style.”
